This article aims to guide you through section A3 of the form, showing you how to correctly define your production areas. This step is essential: it allows you to break down the carbon footprint of each product according to its manufacturing process.

To create your diagram, you need to indicate the quantities of materials entering and leaving each production area, and their origin or destination. 

Here are two examples of diagrams and their correspondence with the CO2 calculator:

Managing Material Loops

  1. To create a material loop, ensure the origin zone and the destination zone are the same, as shown in the diagram below.
  2. Common Mistake: Avoid the error of routing materials from a zone back to that same zone unless it's a genuine loop. This creates an unintentional circuit in your process.
